Former members of the security detail of late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu have called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to address the issue of their outstanding Duty Tour Allowances (DTA). In a heartfelt appeal, the affected personnel, who served in various capacities within the security framework of the previous administration, expressed their concerns regarding the delay in payment of allowances that have been due for months.
The security officers, who served in both internal and external security operations under the leadership of Governor Akeredolu, indicated that the failure to receive their payments has left many in financial distress. They emphasized that the DTA payments were crucial for their personal and family welfare, especially given the nature of their duties, which often exposed them to dangerous and challenging environments.
“We devoted our time, energy, and lives to ensuring the safety of the former Governor and the people of Ondo State. It is only fair that the outstanding allowances owed to us for the periods of service be paid as agreed upon,” one of the representatives of the affected security personnel said.
The security officers reiterated their loyalty to the state and expressed their hope that Governor Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office after the passing of Governor Akeredolu, would promptly take action to resolve the issue and ensure that their entitlements are settled without further delay.
