In a groundbreaking move to empower young mothers and provide them with the skills and tools for financial independence, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today officially unveiled a state-of-the-art vocational training school in Osun State. The initiative, aimed at addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by young mothers, will offer a range of vocational courses tailored to their specific needs.

The vocational school, established in collaboration with the Osun State government and key development partners, is designed to equip young mothers with practical skills that can help them secure stable employment or launch their own businesses. Courses available include tailoring, catering, digital marketing, graphic design, and cosmetology, among others.

Speaking at the launch, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of empowering women and creating opportunities for all Nigerians, particularly young mothers, to contribute meaningfully to the economy. “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development. It is not just about training; it is about changing lives, giving young mothers the tools to rebuild their futures, and providing them with the confidence to thrive,” said Tinubu.

Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, also spoke at the event, commending the President for his vision in establishing the vocational school. “This is a transformational project for Osun, and for Nigeria at large. By offering young mothers the skills they need, we are not only helping them to take control of their destinies but also strengthening the fabric of our society.”

The vocational school has been set up in a modern facility with fully equipped classrooms, practical workspaces, and an on-site childcare center to support young mothers while they train. The project is expected to cater to hundreds of young mothers in Osun State and aims to expand to other regions across Nigeria in the coming years.
