The recently released report by the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee has confirmed the ongoing power struggle between prominent party figures, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo. The committee's findings highlight the intensified political rivalry between the two leaders, which has escalated within the state’s APC structure, shaping the future of the party ahead of the 2025 general elections.

The report, which was compiled by a task force assigned by the party’s national leadership, pointed to growing tension between the two political heavyweights, both of whom have significant influence within the party's hierarchy in Delta State. Sources familiar with the findings revealed that the report emphasizes Keyamo's increasing ambition to assert his dominance in the party, while Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate, continues to maintain his stronghold as the face of the APC in Delta.

The committee also noted the existence of factions within the state party apparatus, which have grown increasingly divided along the lines of loyalty to either Omo-Agege or Keyamo. The rivalry has impacted party unity, with claims of strategic maneuvering, high-level political endorsements, and behind-the-scenes lobbying. The report paints a picture of a political battlefield that threatens to splinter the APC in the region if not addressed promptly.

"The findings of the report are crucial for the party’s leadership to understand the complexities of internal dynamics and the need for reconciliation and unity," a source within the Delta APC commented. "There is a real concern that unless both Omo-Agege and Keyamo reach an understanding, the party’s chances in the upcoming elections could be compromised."

Despite the growing discord, the report also outlines steps that the committee believes could help resolve the rift, including calls for dialogue between the two leaders and the establishment of a neutral mediator to help ease tensions. The APC leadership has been urged to take immediate action to ensure that the party does not suffer irreversible fragmentation ahead of key electoral contests in the state.
