As the state gears up for the upcoming Ondo governorship elections, the state’s Police Chief, Sylvester Alabi, conducted a comprehensive inspection of various polling units and collation centres across the state. The inspection, is part of ongoing efforts to ensure security preparedness and a smooth electoral process on election day.
During the visit, the Police Chief assessed the security arrangements and the readiness of officers deployed to safeguard the polling units and collation centres. The inspection also focused on coordination efforts between law enforcement agencies, election officials, and other stakeholders to guarantee a peaceful, transparent, and orderly election process.
"We are committed to ensuring that Ondo’s citizens can exercise their democratic rights without fear or hindrance," said Sylvester Alabi, "Our officers are ready to provide a secure environment for voters, poll workers, and election observers, and we will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the electoral process."
The inspection also provided an opportunity for the Police Chief to engage with local authorities, polling officials, and election observers, reinforcing the importance of maintaining peace and order throughout the election.
