In a significant crackdown on criminal activities in Ondo State, the Western Nigeria Security Network, code-named Amotekun Corps, has arrested 27 suspects in connection with various offences, including kidnapping, armed robbery, motorcycle theft, conspiracy, cable theft, illegal migration, possession of firearms, and malicious damage.
The arrests were made across the state, with the Amotekun Corps working in collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of residents.
Speaking on the arrests, the state Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, stated that the security situation in the state is stable, with political activities continuing without disruption and the anti-open grazing law being enforced effectively.
Adeleye further revealed that the corps has rescued a kidnapped victim, Bisola Olisa, who was abducted alongside three other victims in the Supare area of Akoko South-West Local Government Area. Two of the abductors have been arrested, and the corps is confident that the remaining victims will be secured.
The suspects will be profiled, and those who need to go to court will be taken, while the corps will explore other means to ensure justice for the rightful owners of stolen items.
The Amotekun Corps remains committed to maintaining peace, order, and security in Ondo State, and will continue to work tirelessly to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of all residents.
