Bayern Munich confirms that star striker Harry Kane suffered a painful blow to his left ankle during yesterday's Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Kane was substituted in the 86th minute after appearing to experience significant discomfort following a challenge for the ball.

Kane, who has been instrumental for Bayern this season, was seen gripping his ankle as he left the pitch, raising immediate concerns among fans and staff alike. Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, noted the severity of the situation: "When Harry leaves the field, it indicates something significant. It doesn’t look promising," he stated during a post-match interview.

However, there is a glimmer of hope regarding Kane’s condition. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen provided an optimistic update shortly after the match. "Harry took a hit to his foot, but according to the doctors, it doesn’t seem too severe," Dreesen remarked. Kane is scheduled to undergo further examination today to assess the extent of the injury.

As Bayern prepares for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Aston Villa on Wednesday, both Eberl and head coach Vincent Kompany expressed cautious optimism about Kane's potential recovery. Kompany stated, "I don't have the exact information but hopefully it's just a bit of pain and we'll get him back this week."

Kane has been a pivotal player for Bayern this season, contributing ten goals across all competitions and showcasing his ability to influence matches significantly. His absence would be felt deeply as the team aims to maintain their position at the top of the Bundesliga table.
