The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has categorically denied widespread speculation suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a firm statement issued through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke declared, “I remain part and parcel of the PDP family. I am not defecting to any party.”
The governor described the rumors as “fake news” and attributed them to political opponents unsettled by his administration’s achievements and growing popularity. He emphasized that his focus remains on delivering the promises outlined in his five-point development agenda, which includes infrastructure renewal, education reform, healthcare improvement, economic empowerment, and good governance.
Governor Adeleke made the declaration during a strategic meeting with PDP stakeholders in Osogbo, where party leaders, including former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and PDP State Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi, reaffirmed their unwavering support for his leadership and endorsed him for a second term in 2026.
The Osun PDP leadership also dismissed any affiliation with the newly formed coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reiterating that the party remains united and focused on its mission in the state.
Governor Adeleke concluded by urging the people of Osun to disregard misinformation and remain confident in his administration’s commitment to democratic dividends and inclusive governance.
