In a momentous celebration of sporting excellence, the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has announced a generous reward of ₦5 million and a plot of land for each player of Kwara United Football Club, following their triumphant win in the 2025 President Federation Cup.

The announcement was made during a grand reception held at the Banquet Hall, GRA Ilorin, where the victorious team was honored after defeating Abakaliki FC 4–3 on penalties in a dramatic final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Governor AbdulRazaq praised the team for ending the state’s decades-long trophy drought and bringing home Nigeria’s oldest and most prestigious football title. “This victory has etched your names in gold,” he said. “You have brought honour to Kwara State, and you will forever be remembered for this noble gesture.”

The players, coaching staff, and officials were paraded through the streets of Ilorin in a jubilant motorcade, cheered on by thousands of fans. The Governor emphasized that the reward reflects the administration’s commitment to youth development and sports excellence.

This marks Kwara United’s first major national title and secures their place in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, where they will represent Nigeria on the continental stage.
