The Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, has issued a directive requiring the sureties of Mr. Peter Enenche to appear and justify the bail earlier granted, following the revocation of said bail in an ongoing defamation case initiated by Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Church.
The case, which has drawn significant public attention, stems from allegations of cyberbullying and criminal defamation filed by Pastor Enenche against his brother, Peter Enenche, and former Dunamis Church pastor, Abraham Daniel. The charges relate to purported online publications deemed injurious to the reputation of the senior pastor.
Earlier this year, the court had granted both defendants bail in the sum of ₦2 million each, with stringent conditions including the provision of two sureties—one of whom must be a civil servant of Grade Level 15 or above, and the other a reputable Nigerian residing within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Both sureties were required to submit original copies of their passports and depose to affidavits of means and good conduct.
However, following concerns raised by the prosecution regarding compliance with bail conditions, the court has now ordered the sureties to appear and justify their eligibility and commitment to the terms of the bail. This development underscores the court’s resolve to ensure strict adherence to judicial protocols and prevent any interference with ongoing investigations.
