In a decisive move to curb criminal activities and restore peace in Lagos, the Nigerian Army conducted coordinated raids on multiple criminal hideouts in the densely populated areas of Oshodi and Mushin. The operations, carried out in collaboration with personnel from Man-O-War Nigeria, form part of an ongoing joint security initiative aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the state.
The raids, which began in the early hours of Tuesday, followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance. Several suspects were apprehended, while various weapons, hard drugs, and stolen items were recovered from the hideouts.
Speaking on the development, Brigadier General A.O. Adegoke, the Commander of the operation, emphasized the army’s commitment to supporting civil authorities in maintaining law and order. “This operation demonstrates our zero-tolerance approach to criminality. The synergy between the Nigerian Army and Man-O-War personnel is a model for community-based security collaboration,” he said.
Man-O-War Nigeria, a volunteer paramilitary and community service organization, played a critical role in identifying high-risk zones and engaging local stakeholders. Their presence helped facilitate smoother operations and ensured minimal disruption to residents.
Residents of Oshodi and Mushin have expressed relief and appreciation, noting a visible decline in street violence and gang-related activity since the operation began. Community leaders have called for sustained efforts and deeper collaboration between military, paramilitary, and local authorities.
