Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has strongly dismissed the recent sexual harassment allegations leveled against him by Natasha, asserting that he has never engaged in any form of sexual misconduct.
In a statement, Akpabio expressed his firm stance, rejecting the claims as baseless and misleading. The Senate President stated that the accusations were not only untrue but also part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
"I have never, at any point in my life, harassed or mistreated any woman, and I vehemently deny these allegations. They are unfounded and reflect an agenda aimed at maligning my character and reputation," Akpabio said.
The Senate President further emphasized his longstanding commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of women, both in his public and private life. He reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all individuals, particularly women, who play an integral role in Nigerian society.
"I am fully committed to supporting women’s rights and ensuring that they are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness," he added.
Akpabio's legal team has indicated that they will take appropriate legal action to address the false claims and ensure that the truth is brought to light. He also called for the public to remain cautious of such unfounded allegations that seek to distract from the important work the Senate is doing for the nation.
