In a startling revelation, two suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Folasade Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Hakeem Odumosu, confessed to hiding her in a bush area behind her residence for more than a week. This confession came after their apprehension by the Lagos State Police Special Squad on January 24, 2025.

The suspects, identified as Agbojule Smart (27) and Keleke Michael (30), were arrested while attempting to flee Lagos State. Following their capture, police interrogations led to shocking admissions about the details of the abduction that occurred on January 16, 2025. According to the suspects, they concealed Mrs. Odumosu in a secluded area near her home during her captivity.

The police operation that led to the rescue of Mrs. Odumosu involved a fierce gun battle with her captors in Ikorodu, Lagos State, where two members of the gang were killed. The operation was initiated following directives from Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun aimed at tracking down the fleeing suspects.

During the arrest, police recovered significant evidence including N2.25 million part of the ransom demanded from the family along with two locally fabricated rifles and eleven live cartridges. The police have confirmed that two additional gang members were previously neutralized during earlier operations.
