The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has strongly dismissed concerns raised by some lawmakers regarding the security implications of the Living Faith Airstrip in Ota, Ogun State. In a statement issued today, CAN emphasized that the fears expressed by certain members of the National Assembly are unfounded and not backed by any credible security threats.

The airstrip, located within the Living Faith Church compound, has recently been under scrutiny by lawmakers who raised concerns about its potential misuse or security vulnerabilities. However, CAN, speaking on behalf of millions of Nigerian Christians, has assured the public that the airstrip is fully compliant with aviation regulations and is being used solely for purposes that promote the well-being of the community.

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, addressed the issue in a press briefing earlier today, stating: "The Living Faith Airstrip is a vital infrastructure that serves the church’s humanitarian and community outreach programs. There is no cause for alarm. The accusations being made against this facility are baseless and motivated by misinformation."

He further assured that the airstrip, like any other legal aviation facility in the country, adheres to the necessary security protocols as mandated by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and other relevant agencies.

CAN’s spokesperson, Pastor Adebayo Adeyemi, also spoke on the issue, saying, "The Living Faith Airstrip is used exclusively for the movement of church leaders, humanitarian personnel, and resources for various community-based projects. There has never been any security breach or incident that would justify the concerns raised."
