Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria – Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, today assured politicians and the people of the state that he remains committed to his vision of development, stating firmly that he will not lose sleep over the issue of re-election.

In a statement made during a meeting with key political figures, Governor Oyebanji emphasized his focus on the present and future progress of Ekiti, asserting that his primary concern is the wellbeing of the state and its citizens, rather than political maneuverings.

"I have no intention of losing sleep over re-election. My priority remains the delivery of dividends of democracy to our people and ensuring that the programs and initiatives of my administration lead to tangible development across Ekiti State," Oyebanji remarked.

The Governor further noted that while politics is an integral part of governance, it should not overshadow the core responsibility of leadership: to improve the lives of citizens. He called on politicians and other stakeholders to prioritize the greater good of the people over partisan interests, stressing that Ekiti's future lies in unity, progress, and continued investment in infrastructure, education, health, and security.

Governor Oyebanji’s statement comes at a time when speculation regarding the upcoming election cycles has stirred political discussions. However, Oyebanji made it clear that his focus remains on his current mandate to drive the state forward, rather than preoccupation with future electoral contests.
