The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has received a formal petition calling for an investigation into the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Mubi. The petition alleges reckless spending and mismanagement of funds within the institution, raising concerns about financial accountability and governance.
The petition, submitted by concerned stakeholders and members of the Polytechnic community, outlines specific instances of alleged financial impropriety, including unauthorized expenditures and lack of transparency in financial reporting. The petitioners argue that these actions contravene established regulations governing public institutions in Nigeria.
In response to the petition, the ICPC is expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the validity of these claims. The agency has emphasized its commitment to tackling corruption in public institutions and ensuring that those found culpable are held accountable.
A representative from the petitioners stated, “Our goal is to ensure that public funds are used appropriately for the benefit of students and staff at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi. We believe that a thorough investigation by the ICPC will bring to light any mismanagement and restore integrity to our institution.”
