Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu Called for Calmness Among the Citizens of Lagos State Over the Redesigned New Naira Notes

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu addressed the citizens of Lagos State regarding the change of the redesigned Naira notes that is causing hardship in the country.  



Sanwo-Olu thanked the good people of Lagos for their patience and unwavering perseverance during these challenging times.



He called for calmness among the citizens and pleaded not to involve in any form of violence, arson, and rioting. He further stated that during the difficulties time being faced by all, violence and destruction should not and will never be the answer.



The governor's attention was brought to the rampant incidents surrounding some of the players in the financial services value chain mostly the POS Agents and petrol station attendants who have taken the current challenges as an opportunity to extort hard-working and law-abiding Lagosians with extortionate service charges on funds withdrawal and sale of PMS.



Sanwo-Olu appealed to those involved in such behavior to desist from such sharp practices.  



"It is especially in difficult times like these that we all need to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers and do everything we can to contribute to lessening the hardships faced by our fellow Lagosians. This is not the period to sacrifice empathy, compassion, and humanity on the altar of profit-making." Sanwo-Olu added.
