The First Lady of Ondo State, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu has cried out as her husband is seriously on sickbed after eating a concoction from the Special Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral and Intergovernmental Affairs, Ms. Bunmi Ademosun.
According to People's Gazette, Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu accused Ms. Ademosun of sneaking to give her husband the local herb to drink.
The First Lady specifically warned Ms. Ademosun to stay away from Mr. Governor, noting that her persistent closeness is weakening the Governor’s health condition.
“I have a message for Ademosun and I believe that she’s on Aketi's women’s platform. I don’t have her number, and I don’t think she’s worthy of me having her number. I want this woman to stay away from my husband. Stop sneaking in concoctions. The local herbs are from her “fake” pastors to give my husband to drink”
Ms. Ademosun, who is an indigene of Akure, was one of the few indigenous people who rallied support for Mr. Akeredolu during his gubernatorial campaigns in 2016, canvassing votes mostly from market women and women groups.
However, Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu was not impressed by Ms. Ademosun’s closeness to the governor and her alleged unorthodox concoction prepared for Mr. Akeredolu.
“We rely on the western style of medical care, and Aketi (Akeredolu) will get well,” she added.
The governor’s wife also accused Ms. Ademosun was scheming to become Ondo deputy governor.
“What has triggered this very message was her recent (sic) meeting to become the deputy governor of the state. Look at you! What have you got upstairs to be the deputy governor of Ondo State?
“Peradventure, if anything happens to Aketi. Lucky Aiyedatiwa takes over. It’s a constitutional thing, but not for you to be scheming.”
While noting that she had always warned her husband to stay away from Ms. Ademosun, the first lady explained that she was ready to do everything possible to protect her husband, threatening to “deal with” the governor’s special adviser.
“I warned Aketi from day one that this woman is evil and not good. And it’s happening. She has nothing good. I’m warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband,” said Mrs. Akeredolu. “If you’re dealing with an Igbo woman in this kind of situation. I will deal with you mercilessly. You’ll never forget in your life. You are a very terrible human being. Go away and enjoy your loot.”
The Peoples Gazette Media could not immediately get the reactions of Ms. Ademosun as several attempts to reach her through her mobile phones proved abortive as of the time of this report.
Last April, Mr. Akeredolu traveled abroad for medical treatment.
“I needed to seek medical attention. It was nothing so serious as overblown because it is routine,” the Ondo governor had stated upon his return. “But on my return, I needed to take some time off based on advice. It wasn’t as serious as people blew it.”
