The Government of South Africa has strongly condemned the recent expulsion of the South African Ambassador to the United States, urging for greater diplomatic caution and restraint in dealing with international relations.
In a statement issued today, the South African government expressed concern over the decision of the United States to expel Ambassador Thulani Zulu, citing the growing importance of fostering mutual respect, collaboration, and dialogue between nations, particularly between long-standing allies.
"The expulsion of our Ambassador is a regrettable and unprovoked action that undermines the principles of diplomacy, mutual respect, and international law," said the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO). "South Africa remains committed to promoting peace, security, and dialogue on the global stage, and this decision threatens the cooperative ties we have worked tirelessly to build."
The government called for an immediate review of the situation and urged the United States to approach international relations with caution. South Africa has consistently championed a foreign policy based on respect for sovereignty, the rule of law, and peaceful negotiations. The expulsion of Ambassador Zulu has raised significant concerns regarding the preservation of these values.
