The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) proudly announces the inauguration of its newly established South-South Regional Office located at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa, Rivers State. This significant milestone, realized after 22 years of planning and anticipation, marks a transformative step towards enhancing aviation safety, security, and service delivery across Nigeria.

During the inauguration ceremony, Acting Director-General of NCAA, Chris Najomo, emphasized the importance of this new facility in decentralizing operations and improving communication within the aviation sector. “This occasion marks another milestone in our commitment to advancing aviation safety and service delivery in Nigeria,” Najomo stated. He highlighted Port Harcourt's strategic role as a hub for energy, commerce, and tourism, which necessitates world-class infrastructure to support the aviation industry.

The revitalized regional office is designed to enhance oversight capabilities and improve response times for airlines and operators in the South-South region. Najomo articulated that this initiative is not merely about inaugurating a building; it represents a foundational step towards operational excellence. “With this office, we aim to strengthen collaboration with airlines and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless operations within this vital region,” he added.

The project has been lauded as a testament to effective leadership and collaboration. The NCAA Regional Manager, Titus Oladipo, noted that the office's establishment had been a long-awaited achievement that would restore confidence among staff and stakeholders alike. “This singular achievement by the management team is a significant boost for our authority,” Oladipo remarked.

The new facility incorporates advanced aviation safety monitoring systems and fully digitized administrative functions. It also features modern training facilities equipped with simulators and e-learning platforms to ensure that NCAA staff are well-prepared to meet international regulatory standards.
