In a decisive move to uphold the sanctity of traditional institutions, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Hon. Kingsley Otuaro, has summoned the recently sacked traditional ruler of Obiaruku Kingdom, Obi Okonji, to the Government House for questioning over allegations of misconduct.

The traditional ruler, whose reign was abruptly ended due to reported unethical behavior, is expected to appear before the Deputy Governor and a select panel of state officials to address the accusations against him. These allegations include violations of established protocols and unbecoming conduct that have brought disrepute to the revered position of traditional leadership.

In a statement released by the Deputy Governor’s office, Hon. Otuaro emphasized the government's firm stance on ensuring that traditional rulers and leaders adhere to the highest standards of integrity and responsibility. "The role of traditional rulers is crucial in preserving the cultural heritage and social order of our communities. Any action that undermines these values will not be tolerated, and we will take the necessary steps to ensure that the integrity of our traditional institutions is protected," he said.
