Nigerian Police Inspector Arrested for Fatal Stabbing Over N200 Bribe

 The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the arrest of Inspector Mohammed Bulama, attached to the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 41 Division, Damaturu, for allegedly stabbing a man to death over a N200 bribe.

The incident occurred in the CMC Area of Zango, Damaturu, where Inspector Bulama and the deceased, identified as Abdulmalik Pompomari, reportedly engaged in a confrontation that escalated tragically. The altercation was allegedly over a N200 bribe demanded by the inspector.

 

The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command, Garba Ahmed, has ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident. “This act is deeply troubling and does not reflect the values and standards of the Nigeria Police Force. We are committed to ensuring that justice is served,” stated Commissioner Ahmed.

 

The NPF has assured the public that the investigation will be conducted transparently and that appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings. The Force also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct within its ranks.

 

The family of the deceased has been contacted, and the NPF extends its deepest condolences to them during this difficult time. Support services are being provided to assist them.
