The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has addressed the recent delays and discrepancies in salary payments to its personnel, attributing the issues to an error in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
In an official statement, the NPF assured its officers and the public that measures are being taken to resolve the problem swiftly. The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, emphasized the importance of timely salary payments for the welfare and morale of the police force.
“We recognize the difficulties caused by these delays and are committed to resolving them as quickly as possible. The error within the IPPIS has been identified, and we are collaborating with the relevant authorities to ensure all outstanding payments are made promptly,” said Inspector General Baba.
To address the issue, the NPF has established a dedicated task force to handle any ongoing salary discrepancies and prevent future occurrences. Officers experiencing payment issues are encouraged to report their cases to the task force for immediate resolution.
The IPPIS, designed to streamline payroll management in the public sector, has encountered several challenges since its implementation. The NPF is working closely with the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation to improve the system’s reliability and accuracy.
The Nigeria Police Force appreciates the patience and understanding of its personnel during this period and remains dedicated to ensuring their welfare and support.
