Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has constituted a
13-member negotiation committee as the state government initiates discussions
with organised labour in preparation for the implementation of the new minimum
wage which was signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on July 30th,
2024.

reports that after a long negotiation with the organized Nigeria Labour
Congress and Trade Union Congress, President Tinubu finally increased the National
Minimum Wage from ₦30,000
to ₦70,000.
The
negotiation committee comprises government officials and organised labour
sector leaders within Ekiti State, and its first meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, September 4th, 2024.
The negotiation committee members from the government are Dr
(Mrs) Folakemi Olomojobi - Head of Service (Chairman), Mr Akintunde
Oyebode - Commissioner for Finance (Member), Comrade K. Faromiluyi - Special
Adviser on Labour Matters (Member), Mrs Titilayo Olayinka - Accountant General/Permanent
Secretary (Member), Mr Bamise Sunday Julius - Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Justice (Member), Mr Oluwadare Jolumo - Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Finance (Member), and Mrs Janet Ajibola - Permanent Secretary, Office of
Establishment and Service Matters (Secretary).
The organised labour includes: Comrade Olufemi Ajoloko - Chairman, Joint Negotiation
Council, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo - Chairman,
Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Sola Adigun - Chairman,
Trade Union Congress, Comrade Yetunde Emmanuel - Secretary, Joint Negotiation
Council, Comrade Dr. Israel Taiwo - Secretary, Nigeria Labour Congress, and
Comrade Yemi Peters - Secretary, Trade Union Congress.
