Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has addressed recent comments made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, regarding the future of the Labour Party in the state. During a press briefing at the Government House in Umuahia, Governor Otti emphasized his belief that power ultimately rests in the hands of God.
In response, Governor Otti chose to remain measured and focused on his current responsibilities rather than engage in speculative political discourse.
“It is foolhardy for me to be talking about what will happen tomorrow,” Governor Otti stated. "I chose not to respond to Ben Kalu’s comment because I believe that power belongs to God, and He gives it to whom He wills. I am not competent to sit here and say what will happen in 2027."
Governor Otti’s remarks highlight his commitment to serving the people of Abia State and his belief in divine providence over political predictions. He urged all political actors to focus on governance and the well-being of the citizens rather than engaging in premature electoral forecasts.
